Police in Mexico jokingly arrested a kinife-wielding Chucky doll that was used by its owner to scare people and demand money from them.

Carlos “N” reportedly used the Chucky, considered a “demon doll” in Mexico, to brandish a large — and real — knife to frighten people into handing over money, according to Fuerza Informativa Azteca.

The devious duo was arrested for disturbing public order and endangering the public in Monclova, a city in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila on September 11.

Carlos was reportedly in the main square of the city under the influence of an illicit substance, Juan Raúl Alcocer, the former director of the Monclova Police, told the outlet.

“He put the doll in their faces and was scaring people, it is an offense, (and) for this reason he was arrested,” he said.

Carlos and the doll were taken to a police precinct and both were handcuffed and had their mug shots taken.

The handcuffed doll, which had a knife sticking out of its signature denim overalls, was propped against the wall and held by its hair as the photo was snapped.

The officer who put Chucky — the possessed doll made famous in the 1988 horror film “Child’s Play” — in cuffs at the behest of local media covering the escapade was later reprimanded for not taking the job seriously.

“Some journalists were jokingly telling him to pose with the doll, to put handcuffs on it,” Alcocer said. “… He must take his job and the regulations seriously, not play those games.”
