KC old boys staging legacy fund-raiser

KINGSTON College (KC) is this Wednesday hosting a fund-raising networking event aimed at supporting the educational and sporting pursuits of its students, in an effort to nurture the next generation of leaders within the prominent high school.

Organised by KC Old Boys’ Association (KCOBA), the event, scheduled for 6:00 pm at Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston, will feature a live and online auction of KC memorabilia, allowing guests to acquire unique items while contributing to the cause.

“This event promises to be an engaging and entertaining experience for attendees. It will offer a unique opportunity to interact with the school’s students, providing insight into their experiences and aspirations and foster[ing] a sense of community and support,” KCOBA said in a news release.

“Kingston College nurtured my appetite for business and ensured that I was not only academically strong but well-rounded as an individual,” said KC old boy Dean Nevers, founder and managing director of Konnex Services Ltd.

“The values and experiences I gained at KC have been invaluable throughout my life, both personally and professionally. It’s crucial to remember that Jamaica’s future lies in the hands of our young men, and they need our support now more than ever. We have a responsibility to invest in their education and development, to help them become the leaders and change-makers that our nation needs,” added Nevers.

“Importantly, you don’t need to be a KC old boy to make a difference. I encourage everyone: Bring your spouses, invite a few friends, and come out and join us for an evening of entertainment and fun. Your presence and contribution can truly change lives and contribute to a brighter future for Jamaica,” he said.

One of the highlights of the fund-raiser will be live entertainment provided by Richie Stephens, a long-time supporter of KC.

“This event will be a vibrant occasion that not only raises funds to help provide access to quality education and sports facilities but will also foster a sense of unity among KC’s supporters while championing the development of future leaders,” KCOBA reiterated.

Intuit Concepts is adding its expertise to help stage the event, which will run until 10:00 pm.
