Glenmuir, STETHS and BB Coke advance in d’Cup
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Former champions Glenmuir High and St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS), as well as BB Coke booked the first three places in the quarter-finals of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competiton with wins in their return leg second round games on Tuesday.
They had won their first round games played on Friday and completed the home-and-away ties with comfortable victories.
Orel Miller and Kyle Gordon scored two goals each to lead Glenmuir High to a massive 9-0 win over Morant Bay High for a 12-0 aggregate win.
It was a tame finish to the season for Morant Bay High who won their first four games and were the first qualifiers before losing their next four, including both games against Glenmuir High.
Nyron Allen, Tevin Ramdial, Tajaun Cummings, Orane Watson and Deandre Johnson also scored for Glenmuir High.
STETHS beat Irwin High 2-0
with goals from Dantay Hewitt and D’Andre Hibbert for a 3-0 aggregate win after edging the St James High- based school in the first leg.
BB Coke returned to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2019 beating Paul Bogle High 3-0 on Tuesday -after taking the first leg 2-0 – with goals for Jahmaul Wright, Semar Williams and Tevon Morris.
