Kelly Shane smoking hot in latest vid
The chemistry and electricity between singer Kelly Shane and her love interest, which is played by one of her friends, Jason Williams, sparkles on screen in her latest video Cigarette.
The smoking hot video, which was recently released, is the follow-up to Kelly Shane’s recent effort Ain’t That Loving You, which features dancehall veteran Busy Signal.
The video for Cigarette was directed by fellow singer Khalia.
“Kelly Shane is a good friend of mine and I adore her voice and music, so when I heard this song I immediately wanted to shoot it. Kelly already had an idea of what she wanted, and we worked together to create a beautiful visual for the song. I usually direct my own music videos and have directed for other artistes and projects, so this is not my début,” Khalia said in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.
The song Cigarette is produced by Tads Dawkins Jr. It speaks to a relationship gone bad.
“Honestly, this song is inspired by every break-up I’ve ever had. The inconsistency, the lies, the secrets, the nonchalance. Being told one thing but experiencing a totally different thing,” said Kelly Shane.
Asked what it was like working with Williams in the video, Kelly Shane said: “Jason is a good friend of mine and he’s like family. Our closeness in life made me relax a bit. I could get comfortable. His personality lent itself to the role as well; it was really special,” Kelly Shane shared.
And, will Cigarette be part of a project that she has in the pipeline?
“I don’t even really know. I’m just making some songs. Still trying to understand what to do with them when they’re finished,” she said.
Kelly Shane is the daughter of singer and songwriter Tanya Stephens. Asked whether having a such popular entertainer as her mother made her work any easier, or whether it came with any challenges, Kelly Shane said: “No, so far I’ve had really good experiences. I work at a comfortable pace. Zero pressure from anyone but myself.”
She also said that her mom has been supportive of her choice in pursuing music as a career.
“Half and half. My mom has a really good, rewarding career, but she’s also had traumatic experiences in the industry, so while she’s excited to see me come into myself as a singer, and as a writer especially, I can tell she’s scared for me as well. Even if she doesn’t say it,” Kelly Shane disclosed.
And what was the best advice that her mother has given to her as it relates to music?
“Don’t take drinks from these people, focus on making music, [because] without a song nothing matters,” said Kelly Shane.
