Tacky beat Excelsior in Tampa youth cricket festival
Tacky High School defeated Excelsior High by four wickets in the clash of Jamaican schools on Friday’s opening day of the three-day Twenty20 (T20) Tampa Youth Cricket Championship in Tampa, Florida.
Batting first, Excelsior High made 106 for eight wickets in their 20 overs.
Jahmare Daley was the top scorer for Excelsior with 48 from 33 balls, hitting five sixes and two fours. Marlon Williams was the leading bowler for Tacky High with three wickets for 18 runs from his four overs.
Tacky High then reached 107 for six wickets to win with five balls to spare. Tacky High were led by solid middle-order batting from Rajae Brown (27), Trevaun Williams (24), and Aan Ellis (20).
Malik Miller and Michael Clarke took two wickets each for Excelsior High.
The championship continues today (Saturday) with both Jamaican schools facing local academy teams, Assassins and University of South Florida.
