Dunkley-Willis hailed for extraordinary service to children
Jamaica Observer Senior Staff Reporter Alicia Dunkley-Willis (right) is presented with an award and certification of appreciation for extraordinary service to children by Children’s Advocate Diahann Gordon Harrison last Thursday. Dunkley-Willis was among 16 adults recognised by the Office of the Children’s Advocate at the inaugural awards during which 13 high school students were awarded for being extraordinary children. Gordon Harrison told guests at the function, which was originally planned for Universal Children’s Day (November 20), that the individuals selected “demonstrated that Jamaica remains a country which possesses individuals who stand on strong principles of doing what is right, acting with kindness towards others — particularly our most vulnerable — and who are committed to their respective fields of service with dedication and excellence”. The function was held at Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston. (Photo: Karl Mclarty)
