StAHS girls share Christmas cheer!
The choir of St Andrew High School for Girls has got the spirit of Christmas wrapped up in their loins.
The ladies and their teachers have been sharing their festive arrangements and melodies for the season with their school community and cheering audiences.
The ‘Life More Abundant’ ensemble is on a mission to not only impact hearts and homes for the festive season, but they are actively in pursuit of the top spot in the long-running All Together Sing choir competition which climaxes today, Sunday, December 17, 2023.
Choir Director Phillip DaCosta advised that girls are a gem to work with and one of his chorister handles much of the arrangements they perform at school and in competition.
“It has not been all fun, but challenging… I have been working with the girls only since September and they have done well. I try to make sure the sound his appealing, but they make it worth it” he said.
The choir will continue sharing Christmas joy before it goes on holiday.
The director thanked the school community for support adding that he is assisted by Lauri-Ann Richards, choreographer; Alexcia Smith, wardrobe mistress; and Nadette Grant Malcolm, designer & performing arts head of department.
“The girls work hard and they live the school’s motto,” added DaCosta.
