Spectrum Systems joins Waterhouse family as sponsors increase support for the Premier League club

KINGSTON, Jamaica— Waterhouse Football Club have received a boost to their coffers with the addition of a new sponsor as well as the return of some long-term sponsors on Wednesday.

TankWeld Metals, Dairy Industries Jamaica Limited and National Bakery were joined by new sponsors, Spectrum Systems Limited as corporate sponsors of the Jamaica Premier League club.

National Bakery increased its sponsorship of the football club from $1 million to $2 million, while Spectrum Systems will pump in $3 million over three years into the club.

The announcement and presentation of cheques were made at halftime during Waterhouse’s match against Tivoli Gardens FC at the Drewsland mini-stadium.

Andrew Stanigar, chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director of Spectrum Systems, spoke of how he decided to sponsor the team.

“Bruce Bicknell reached out to me and asked me to consider sponsoring. Spectrum Systems is a member of the community. We operate in the Waterhouse area on Spanish Town Road and so we are delighted to join the team…and we will be a meaningful player,” he disclosed.

Stanigar said that he is looking forward to his firm making a big impact in the community.

“We are looking forward to making a difference, certainly to the team and in the community in which we operate. We are really looking forward to this partnership and helping those people who want to succeed through sport,” the CEO added.

Kerry-Ann Robinson, the general manager of Waterhouse FC welcomed their newest partners, who also operate within the Waterhouse community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Spectrum Systems Limited as our new sponsor, and we express sincere gratitude for their significant $3m sponsorship. This injection of support will empower us to invest in infrastructure, youth development, and various community initiatives,” Robinson said.

Robinson also spoke of the gratitude felt by the club for the support from corporate Jamaica.

“Waterhouse Football Club is immensely grateful to our longstanding main sponsors, Tankweld Metals, for their unwavering support over the past 20 years. Their commitment to our club and the community has played a pivotal role in our success both on and off the field.

“A heartfelt thank you is also extended to National Bakery for a decade of partnership, and we are elated by the increased sponsorship to $2 million. This generous contribution will undoubtedly elevate our capabilities and help us reach new heights in the competitive realm of football,” she said.

Robinson added: “Dairy Industries Jamaica Limited holds a special place in our hearts as they celebrate their 28th year of partnership with Waterhouse Football Club. Your enduring support has been instrumental in fostering the growth of our players, the club, and the broader community”.

Robinson insisted that the partnerships have a far-reaching impact on the community of Waterhouse and not just the club.

“The corporate support from Tankweld Metals, National Bakery, Dairy Industries Jamaica Limited, and Spectrum Systems Limited goes beyond financial backing.

“It symbolises a shared commitment to community development, the spirit of competition, and the camaraderie that sports uniquely provide. These partnerships are not just about funding; they are about fostering a sense of unity, pride, and accomplishment within our community,” she concluded
