How Kedeshia taught Lance about the business of a woman’s heart
The wedding was long in coming but their love affair had been sparked long before. From the moment the fire was ignited, Kedeshia Richards vowed quietly to teach Lancelot Grier, a budding businessman, lessons about the business of a woman’s heart.
“We met in 2002 while I was in my first year at teachers’ college through two mutual friends who were dating at the time,” Kedeshia – Kay to her friends – recalled. “We connected and would talk for hours getting to know each other.”
For Lance’s part, “it was refreshing to be able to share the intimate details of our lives without judgment. It created an unbroken bond which has kept us connected until now. The commitment, support and dedication to each other and our family is unwavering”.
Their 20-year relationship produced two wonderful children, Lamar who played the role of give-away son and Laila as mini bride. Flower girl was Isabelle Gourfinkle. Lance also fathered two other children, Tori and Kelsi.
On December 9, 2023, in the midst of the Yuletide season, with its merriment and colour, the two tied the knot before Minister Jeffery White and a host of old and new friends at the picturesque Jazview Villa, Chukka Cove, St Ann. The rains threatened and the skies darkened but the heavens stayed its hands sufficiently to allow the happy occasion to proceed, against the alluring backdrop of the Caribbean Sea.
Kedeshia has since left her long career in teaching to join her husband in running his company Lanpro Systems Limited.
Master of ceremonies at the reception was the indefatigable Georgia Crawford.
