Regional cricket: Pride edge to victory against Scorpions
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Barbados Pride are 107-4 in search of another 66 runs for victory on the final day of the regional four-day match against Jamaica Scorpions at Sabina Park.
Left-hander Shayne Moseley is on 22, while Roshon Primus is on nine.
Off spinner Peat Salmon has taken 3-46 for the Scorpions.
Scores: Scorpions 269 (78.4 ovs) & 292 (83.2 ovs); Pride 389 (120 ovs) & 107-4 (28 ovs).
Earlier on Saturday, the Scorpions resumed their second innings from an overnight score of 220-8 to push on to make 292 all out.
Lower-order batsman Derval Green finished on 48 not out. Debutant pacer Shaquille Cumberbatch grabbed 5-46 for the Pride.
Chasing 173 runs for victory, the Pride lost West Indies Test captain Kraigg Brathwaite (13), his opener partner Zachary McCaskie (12), and Jonathan Drakes (nine) to stumble to 52-3.
Kevin Wickham struck 22 before he also fell, but Moseley and Primus got safely to tea and ensured the Pride remained in control of the match.
