JPS to conduct meter mapping exercise from March to May
KINGSTON, Jamaica— The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) has announced that it will be conducting a meter mapping exercise between March and May.
The light and power company has not stated the purpose of the exercise, other than it being “part of efforts to serve you better”.
It is advising customers that “JPS representatives may be visiting your premises” during the months stated and may require access to the meter on a few occasions over the period, in order to complete the exercise.
JPS said its representatives will have their work photo IDs, indicating that they are JPS contractors, which they must present at the premises they visit. They must also advise of the reason for the visit.
Additionally, JPS said that if for any reason individuals do not feel comfortable allowing the representative access, they should call the JPS Customer Care Centre at 888CALLJPS for confirmation of the activity in their area.
