Motorcyclist shot while riding in St James
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Police are searching for a man who fired several shots at a motorcyclist as he rode along the roadway in Canaan district in Dumfries, St James, on Saturday night.
The bike rider received a gunshot wound, crashed his motorcycle and was later hospitalised, the police said.
Reports reaching Observer Online are that around 9:45 pm, the now-injured man was riding his purple Missile G150 motorbike along the roadway when a man armed with a handgun stood along the roadway and opened gunfire in his direction. He was hit in the right leg and right index finger.
The motorcyclist then reportedly lost control of the motorbike. The gunman subsequently escaped on foot in the surrounding area.
The motorcyclist was assisted by residents hospital, where he was admitted in a serious but stable condition. The police were later alerted.
Five 9mm spent casings were reportedly retrieved from the scene, the police said.
