WATCH: Newborn baby stolen from Victoria Jubilee Maternity Hospital
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A newborn baby was reportedly stolen from the Victoria Jubilee Maternity Hospital on Monday.
According to reports, the incident occurred about 10:05 am.
The baby, Kimoya Shantana Robe, is said to be 11 days old. Her mother is 26-year-old Christina Blake and the father is 33-year-old Kevin Robe.
According to the police, the parents went to the Kingston Public Hospital with the infant where Blake went for treatment. On completion of the treat, they left the baby in the care of the mother who is in a wheelchair and went to purchase food.
The suspect, who appears to be in her thirties, brown complexion, medium built about five-feet six-inches tall, at that time reportedly approached the mother and offered to assist her with the baby and she handed her the baby as she was someone she had seen before.

“The suspect was talking to the mother and then said that she will soon be back. The mother attempted to stop the suspect who reassured her that she would be back and left with the baby and did not return after some time. The father returned and made checks, however, the suspect and the infant were not seen. An alarm raised and the compound was checked but there was no sgn of the infant and the suspect. The baby girl was wearing a pink polka dot onesie, green and white socks, green hat and wrapped in a pink and white polka dot blanket/receiver, ” the police said.
As for the suspect, she was reportedly wearing a curly wig hairstyle and dressed in a white blouse and blue jeans pants.
According to the police, the woman was captured on camera exiting the hospital and heading towards Orange Street.
