#Champs2024: No clear favourite for Class 3 girls’ high jump
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The final of the Class 3 girls’ high jump will be exhilarating following a four-way tie in the preliminary round at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Campion College’s Stefvanco Henry, Hydel High’s Zavien Bernard, Wolmerian Kariecia Morrison and Mount Alvernia’s Malia Housen cleared the qualifying mark of 1.60m. They all head into the final with no failed attempts in the preliminaries.
Immaculate Conception’s Grace-Ann Bailey, Sackoya Palmer of St Mary High and Gabrilla Treasure of St Catherine High also recorded a mark of 1.60m. However, based on count back, they finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively.
The other finalists include Alexia Williams of St Jago High (1.55m), Edwin Allen pair of Abrianna Clarke and Macaela Gordon (1.55m), St Elizabeth Technical’s Latonya Channer (1.55m) and Jada Irons of Hydel (1.50m).
The final of the Class 3 girls’ high jump is slated for Thursday at 12:02 pm.
