#Champs2024: Record for Hydel’s Bernard in Class 3 girls’ high jump
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Hydel High’s Zavien Bernard set a record of 1.83m to claim gold in the Class 3 girls’ high jump at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships on Thursday.
Bernard surpassed the previous record 1.80m twice, having registered a height of 1.81m in her eighth-round attempt before clearing 1.83m.
The record was set by Shantae Foreman of Excelsior High in 2018.
The silver was won by St Catherine High’s Gabrilla Treasure (1.68m) while bronze went to Grace-Ann Bailey of Immaculate Conception (1.65m).
