Hector, Cephas named in Reggae Boyz team for semis against USA
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Veteran utility player Michael Hector and attacker Renaldo Cephas were named in Jamaica’s badly depleted team to face the USA in the semi-finals of the Concacaf Nations League semi-finals at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on Thursday.
Hector, who recently returned to the national team, was named in the midfield where he will join Joel Latibeaudiere, Bobby DeCordova-Reid and Kasey Palmer.
Cephas, who plays his club football for Turkish Süper Lig club Ankaragücü, will spearhead the attack along with another returnee Jamal Lowe.
Jamaica are without a number of regular starters through injuries and suspensions and the likes of Michael Antonio who was a late withdrawal from the squad, while Shamar Nicholson and Demarai Grey will sit out the game due to cards they received in the two- way quarterfinals series against Canada and Leon Bailey was suspended by the team for breaking curfew.
Team:
Andre Blake (capt), Damion Lowe, Di’Shon Bernard, Dexter Lembikisa, Greg Leigh, Joel Latibeaudiere, Michael Hector, Bobby DeCordova-Reid, Kasey Palmer, Renaldo Cephas and Jamal Lowe.
