KFC Boss Living The Dream
At the height of the lottery scamming challenge three years ago, deejay KFC Boss noticed that most of the people arrested for this criminal activity were youngsters.
The worrying trend inspired him to write and record Living The Dream, produced by Any Weather Entertainment.
Scamming, or chopping as it is known among players involved, goes against everything he learned from his parents.
“I came from a household where taking a handout was totally forbidden, you always have to work for what you want. My father would say, “Nothing beats an honest bread,’ “ the artiste told the Jamaica Observer.
Local law enforcement report that hundreds of people are involved in lottery scamming, fleecing mainly senior citizens in the US of their money, often claiming they have won various types of sweepstakes.
Born and raised in Spanish Town, KFC Boss had an interest in creative writing since he was a student at Dinthill High School. Five years ago, he started recording music and has since released a handful of songs, including Suicidal and Love Affair.
A shift supervisor at a KFC restaurant in his hometown, he said while that moniker was influenced by his place of employment, KFC stands for Knowledgeable, Fearless and Creative.
Most of the songs KFC Boss has done to date have empowering themes, but he is aware that a clean image does not necessarily help a dancehall artiste.
“It is very hard to get exposure… especially when you don’t drink or smoke and have this big, bad entourage behind you. I hope to be a promising entertainer in this music business one day, if only society will accept,” he said.
