BVI joins Jamaica in Group E of Concacaf WQC
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Group E of the Concacaf World Cup qualifying was completed on Tuesday, after The British Virgin Islands beat the US Virgin Islands 4-2 on penalties in their play-off at the AO Shirley Recreation Ground in Road Town, BVI and booked their place in the second round.
They will join the Group that includes Jamaica, Dominica, Dominican Republic and Guatemala for the second round that will run between June 2024 and June 2025 where 30 countries will vie for spots in the final round.
The final round which will be played between September-November 2025 for five spots in the World Cup that will be hosted by CONCACAF- Mexico, USA and Canada, three direct qualification and two via play-offs.
On Tuesday, the BVI and USVI played out a 0-0 draw after their first leg 1-1 draw on Friday and BVI won on penalties.
