Campari Boulevard… quite an experience
Soca star Yung Bredda was excited about his début performance in Jamaica at Campari Boulevard in New Kingston on Sunday.
The Trinidadian artiste, who has collaborated with Jamaican acts in the past, said performing here meant a lot to him.
“Performing in Jamaica means the world to me and my team. For me to be here and performing live it means the people of Jamaica are loving what I do, and for that I am grateful,” Yung Bredda shared in an interview with the Jamaica Observer shortly after he delivered a high-energy set.
His performance included songs such as Viral (remix), Ambiance and Wine Pon It.
Also in fine form was 2024 Trinidad Road March winner Mical Teja, whose current hit song
DNA was easily consumed by the large crowd which comprised revellers and spectators alike.
Earlier on, dancehall artiste Stylo G represented with songs such as Touch Down and
Dumpling.
Aside from a strong heaping of soca music, the DJs kept the crowd moving for hours with a mix-in of dancehall songs.
A live steel pan orchestra, Junkanoo dancers, as well as stilt walkers added some excitement to the proceedings.
“When it comes to consumer experience, Campari is big on it. Every single patron that has come in here has had a touchpoint with Campari. The entire Campari Boulevard experience has been an absolutely awesome and terrific feeling for us today,” Mark Telfer, brand manager for Campari, disclosed to the Observer.
This is the second year that Campari Boulevard has been a part of the Carnival Road March experience.
“We made it bigger than last year. I’m absolutely amazed that we’ve expanded it and we’re filled to capacity. So next year, it’s about premium experience, bigger space, and making sure the consumers enjoy themselves,” said Telfer.
