Man stabbed to death during alleged dispute in Clarendon
CLARENDON, Jamaica – A man was stabbed to death during an alleged confrontation with another at his home at Havannah Heights in Clarendon on Friday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Leroy Campbell.
Information reaching Observer Online indicates that around 4:40 pm, Campbell was on his verandah talking to a friend while a man who resides in the same community sat on the perimeter wall.
An argument reportedly developed between Campbell and the man on the wall. Campbell reportedly threw a bottle and hit the man in the head.
The man, police said, ran into the yard. Campbell ran inside the house and closed the door, but the man kicked it open, entered the home and stabbed him several times.
The man then fled on foot in the area, the police said.
The friend reportedly assisted Campbell to the May Pen Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The police have since launched a manhunt for the alleged killer.
