Spanish Town doctor who allegedly serviced Klansman gang arrested
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The Counter Terrorism & Organised Crime Investigations Branch (CTOC) has arrested a Spanish Town medical doctor who is believed to have provided services to the Tesha Miller-led fraction of the Klansman gang.
In a statement provided to the media, the police said he was arrested on reasonable suspicion of breach of the Criminal Justice (Suppression of Criminal Organisation) Act.
The arrest was made during an ID parade on Wednesday where the doctor was pointed out by two witnesses, the police said.
According to the police, the doctor operates somewhere in the Young Street area of Spanish Town in St Catherine.
The police said he will be processed and formal charges are to follow.
The Klansman gang is currently listed among the top five criminal organisations operating in Jamaica. Most of its operations were carried out in Spanish Town and surrounding communities. It also has influenced bordering parishes such as Clarendon, Manchester, St Ann, St James and Kingston, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey.
