Time for the FA Cup semi-finals

Time for the FA Cup semi-finals

With teams fighting for top four spots in their respective leagues, FA Cup semi-final matchups takes centre stage this weekend as Manchester City and Chelsea collide in an all-Premier League clash, then on Sunday, Manchester United will square off against Championship side Coventry, in a bid to advance to the grand finale.

Event # 1 – FA CUP – Man City vs Chelsea – 11:15 AM

A captivating encounter between two of the Premier League’s big six teams will unfold at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday, as Manchester City and Chelsea go head-to-head in a FA Cup semi-final, with the prize being a spot in the final.

Following slip-ups from their two main challengers over the weekend in the league, Man City are once again top of the pack, and are now heavy favourites to win back-to-back league titles.

City’s FA Cup campaign began with a 5-0 hammering of Huddersfield, followed by a narrow 1-0 win over Tottenham, they then kicked into high gear by thrashing Luton Town 6-2, before overpowering Newcastle 2-0 to secure their semi-final spot against Chelsea.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have had an inconsistent season so far, especially given the vast investment in their squad. Indeed, the FA Cup represents their only chance of winning silverware this season, but more importantly, inject some positivity into a season that has been marred by criticisms and disappointments.

Chelsea have historically done well in the FA Cup, having lifted the crown eight times, their most recent triumph in 2018. Ahead of this clash against Manchester City, the 4-0 battering they received by their upcoming opponents, Man City, in this exact fixture will be fresh in their minds.

Despite that loss, Chelsea enter this match in excellent form having won four and drawn two of their last six games including a big 6-0 demolition of Everton last Monday.

Justbet customers who makes a bet for $1,500 or more from March 1 to April 28, 2024, will be entered into a draw to win a trip to the 2024 UEFA Champions League finals. Visit

KEY STATS

Man City – have won their last nine FA Cup matches.

Chelsea – Chelsea has reached five of the last seven FA Cup finals, last winning the title in 2018.

Both sides – Manchester City are unbeaten in their last eight meetings with Chelsea in all competitions.

The betting tip. Manchester City win.

Event # 2 FA CUP – Coventry vs Manchester United – 9:30 AM

Manchester United will be aiming to reach the FA Cup final for the second-successive season on Sunday, when they go head-to-head with Coventry at the Wembley Stadium.

Coventry’s run to the FA Cup semi-final this season has been impressive. Firstly, they thrashed Oxford United 6-2, brushed aside Sheffield Wednesday 4-1, eased past Maidstone 5-0, and then registered a remarkable upset against Premier League side Wolves with a 3-2 victory, to book their semi-final spot.

Coventry have won the coveted FA Cup just once in their history, back in 1987, and will be aiming to create a massive upset to reach the showpiece event.

Manchester United will enter this FA Cup semi-final clash as huge favourites to reach the final for a second year in a row. The Red Devils, Manchester United, made it to the final four with a stunning 4-3 win over Liverpool in the quarter-finals, but surprisingly, have failed to win any of their subsequent four Premier League matches.

The FA Cup represents the last chance of success for United this season to salvage some pride from an otherwise disappointing run. Manchester United have had 12 wins in the FA Cup, winning the title 12 times, their most recent in 2016.

Justbet customers who makes a bet for $1,500 or more from March 1 to April 28, 2024, will be entered into a draw to win a trip to the 2024 UEFA Champions League finals. Visit
promotions.supremegames.com to learn more.

KEY STATS

Coventry – have opened the scoring in four of their last five matches with their leading scorer Ellis Simms scoring each time. Coventry have only ever reached this stage of the FA Cup once before (1987), when they went on to lift the trophy.

Manchester United – have lost just one of their last nine FA Cup matches.

Both sides – Manchester United have won six of their last 7 meetings against Coventry. However, their most recent meeting in 2007 saw Coventry prevailing 2-0 in the league Cup.

The betting tip. Manchester United win.
