Shaney Blaxx channels life experiences on new single Concrete Jungle
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Having resided in the tough inner-city community of east Kingston, dancehall artiste Shaney Blaxx knows about poverty and violence. With a positive outlook and a plan to make his life better, the artiste did not allow his circumstances to decide his fate in life.
On his latest single Concrete Jungle he talks about his rough upbringing and violence within his community. Released last month, the single was produced by Worl Blast Music.
“Concrete Jungle was inspired by the place I grew up and what I saw happening around me at the time. Times were hard and, growing up as a child with both my parents, we learned how to appreciate the little things that we had. But it was really rough,” said Shaney Blaxx.
He shared that music played an integral role in keeping him on a positive path.
“Music played a major role and impacted my life. Understanding the job of an entertainer and wanting to be that next voice for the people, music changed my life 100 per cent,” he disclosed.
“Taking note of life’s lessons and mapping out how life really works helped me to rise above the circumstances. Learning from my parents, doing what’s right and focusing on the right path to success also played a critical role,” Shaney Blaxx added.
The official video for Concrete Jungle has more than 135,000 views on YouTube, while the song has been garnering rotation on radio and is featured on several mixtapes.
