#NationalTrials: Shericka Jackson cruises to 200m finals, leads qualifiers

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Shericka Jackson stayed on course to win a third straight women’s sprint double at the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships after she led the qualification for Sunday’s final of the 200m on Saturday at the National Stadium.

Less than 24 hours after she retained her 100m title, Jackson never got out of first gear to win her race comfortably in 22.67 seconds (-0.9m /s).

Dejanae Oakley of the University of Texas was the next best with 22.77 seconds (-0.9m/s) and was followed by Jodean Williams of Sprintec with 22.86 seconds (-0.2m/s).

Niesha Burgher of the University of Texas-El Paso also advanced to the final with 22.90 seconds (-2.0m/s) along with Lanae-Tava Thomas- 23.04 seconds, Ashanti Moore- 23.19 seconds and Kevona Davis- 23.37 seconds.
