Postcard From Paris: Inès Swaton
Style

Postcard From Paris: Inès Swaton

Inès Swaton, head of sales – USA, Gas Bijoux & founder, Glower, is no stranger to Jamaica. Her aunt is the celebrated skin pro Marie Hall Smith, managing director of The Face Place, and her maternal grandmother the late Elima Hall its founder.

No better person, we reckon, to discover Paris with!

Le Marais:

Le Marais is my go-to spot for fashion and art. Its chic boutiques, art galleries, and historic charm create the perfect mix of old-world Paris and modern sophistication. I always make sure to visit Boutique Merci, grab a coffee at Café Charlot, and explore the Musée Picasso.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés:

This district is the epitome of Parisian elegance and intellectual chic. With its legendary

cafés and high-end boutiques, it’s a place I love to frequent. My must-visits here are Café de Flore, Les Deux Magots, and the charming boutiques on Rue de Rennes.

Palais-Royal Gardens:

I spend a lot of time in the Palais-Royal Gardens, right in the heart of Paris. These gardens offer a peaceful escape with a beautiful backdrop of designer stores and trendy cafés. I often stop by Café Kitsuné, stroll through the stunning arcades of Galerie de Montpensier, and check out the concept stores.

Le Bon Marché:

Le Bon Marché, Paris’s first department store, is synonymous with luxury and style. It’s a shopping paradise where I love browsing exclusive brands and designer collections. La Grande Épicerie is a must for gourmet food shopping, and I always check out the latest fashion collections.

Avenue Montaigne:

For me, Avenue Montaigne represents the pinnacle of Parisian elegance and style. Known for its luxury fashion boutiques and haute couture houses, it’s my top fashion destination. I can’t resist visiting the flagship stores of Dior, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton, and dining at L’Avenue, a favourite among celebrities and fashion insiders.

Le Bristol Paris:

Le Bristol Paris is my choice for opulent experiences. This luxurious hotel impresses with its stunning décor, world-class dining, and exclusive rooftop pool. It’s favoured by the elite for its impeccable service and elegant atmosphere. I highly recommend dining at Epicure, the hotel’s three-Michelin-star restaurant, enjoying a drink at the chic Bar du Bristol, and relaxing in the serene rooftop garden.

Le Bon Marché.

From its prime spot on chic Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Le Bristol has since 1925 served as a hub for a discerning international crowd, a favourite of everyone from Charlie Chaplin and Rita Hayworth to top fashion designers and photographers. .

Just like the city whose name it proudly bears, the Paris Suite at Le Bristol — located on the hotel’s sixth floor, on the corner of Avenue Matignon and the famous Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré — offers enchanting views of the Eiffel Tower and is a pinnacle of romance and refinement..

La Grande Épicerie de Paris, an unmissable destination for all food lovers in the French capital .

Inès Swaton invites you to enjoy the most beautiful bridges across the Seine. .

If it’s luxe, you can probably buy it at Le Bon Marché, Paris’s oldest and most iconic department store..

.

Known for the literary and artistic celebrities who lived and worked there in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Saint Germain des, Prés is now one of the best shopping areas in the city, and it has everything from cafés, brasseries, art galleries, theatres, street markets, and Jardin du Luxembourg..
