In the 1940s, Nathans and Issas — luxury department stores on King Street, downtown Kingston — were some of the only places to purchase Clarks shoes in Jamaica. Since then, as its enduring relationship with Jamaican fashion has grown, several stores have sold the brand’s iconic styles, but only one has snagged the exclusive partnership with Clarks Originals for its first store in the Caribbean.
Signature Style, a family-owned business helmed by Karen Smith D’Aguilar — which has been selling Clarks for 30 years, and has been at Shop 18 Central Plaza for 15 — was recently transformed to the official Clarks Originals shop-in-shop experience.
The Page 2 team was among the selected few who got first dibs, last Friday, on the new space, latest collections, iconic classics, and newest brand collaborations.
