Titchfield into second week of staggered classes
PORT ANTONIO, Portland — Repairs continue at Hurricane Beryl-ravaged Titchfield High School, and so do staggered classes.
While seventh and 11th graders have classes every day this week, students in grade eight will have school on Thursday and Friday, ninth graders will have classes Monday and Tuesday, and 10th graders will have classes only on Wednesday. The block where 10th graders have classes is among the areas of the 238-year-old institution still under repair.
Acting Principal Sheryl Horne-Mair is hoping everything will be in place for students in grades 12 and 13 to return to school in week three, as scheduled.
“Their return would hopefully be on time and will be dependent on what rooms I get,” she said.
