Tufton book hits #1 on Amazon Kindle New Releases in first week
Health and Wellness Minister Dr Christopher Tufton’s second book, Wild Flavours, has surged to the top of Amazon Kindle’s New Releases charts within its first week of publication.
The book now leads sales in four categories — health-care administration, health-care delivery, emergency medicine, and contagious diseases.
“This achievement underscores Wild Flavours’ impressive reception. The book outsold other new titles in these competitive categories — a notable first for a Jamaican author,” a news release from Tufton’s publicist said.
Wild Flavours chronicles Jamaica’s experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering an insider’s view of Tufton’s role as minister of health and wellness. The book delivers a captivating mix of public health analysis, personal reflections, and community stories, providing a humanising narrative on the country’s response to the global health crisis.
“Critics have praised the book for its clarity, engaging storytelling, and unique perspective on crisis management. The blend of technical insight and relatable anecdotes has deeply resonated with readers, making the book both informative and emotionally compelling,” the release said.
“Dr Tufton’s first-hand account provides a riveting and inspiring narrative of crisis management,” the release quotes USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Dr Aaron Poynton.
“Wild Flavours reads more like a gripping thriller than a traditional memoir — humane, personal, and deeply revealing,” said Decca Aitkenhead, chief interviewer at The Sunday Times. “I couldn’t put it down.”
Wild Flavours is being hailed as an essential read on pandemic leadership and resilience.
