Over 10,000 expected to meditate with Art of Living Foundation on Dec 12, 14

The Art of Living Foundation (AOLF) will host Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on a visit to Jamaica to lead the ‘Jamaica for Peace’ events.

This visit marks a significant milestone in AOLF’s mission to foster peace and resilience within Jamaican communities.

The two-event programme is scheduled for December 12, 2024 at National Indoor Sports Centre, 6 Arthur Wint Drive, beginning at 6:00 pm.

It will then move to the second city, Montego Bay, on December 14, 2024 at Montego Bay Convention Centre running from 10:00 am to noon.

Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.

With over 10,000 participants expected, prospective attendees may access tickets at www.artoflivingjamaica.com or e-mail connect@artoflivingjamaica.com.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a global peace ambassador and humanitarian whose initiatives have positively impacted over 500 million people across 180 countries. His life’s work is dedicated to fostering a stress-free, violence-free society through various educational and social initiatives.

AOLF, a non-profit, non-religious, and non-governmental organisation founded by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, one of the world’s most influential humanitarian leaders who have brought mediated peace globally to many war-torn regions.

AOLF transcends boundaries of religion and class, focusing on core human values to promote peace and harmony in diversity. By fostering an inclusive environment, AOLF works tirelessly to unite individuals from all walks of life, encouraging mutual respect and understanding.

Operating in 180 countries and renowned for its innovative stress management programmes, its work has been adapted by prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. These programmes incorporate stress management techniques that have been scientifically validated to enhance mental well-being and reduce stress.

Among the initiatives of AOLF are:

• Rehabilitation programmes: Implementing initiatives that have benefited over 2,000 inmates, providing them with tools for personal transformation and reintegration into society;

• Know Your Child Workshops: Facilitating family communication to strengthen relationships and support systems within communities;

• Stress Management Initiatives: Promoting mindfulness as a key strategy in reducing criminal behaviour and fostering peace. Shaggy and other well known people and artistes benefited from these courses alongside thousands of Jamaicans.

• Corporate programmes: Offering tailored stress-reduction programmes to businesses, enhancing employee well-being and productivity.

Forbes magazine has commended AOLF for its transformative impact, stating: “The Art of Living Foundation has revolutionised stress management with its evidence-based programmes, making profound impacts on individuals and communities worldwide.”

The Jamaica for Peace events are designed to unite cultures and heal hearts through a combination of music, meditation, and wisdom. These free, transformative public talks offer attendees an opportunity to engage in deep meditation and gain profound insights for personal and communal growth.

Andrew Pairman, director of AOL Jamaica, shared: “Our work in Jamaica over the past decade has shown the profound impact that meditation and stress management can have on individuals and communities. The Jamaica for Peace’ events are a testament to our commitment to creating lasting positive change.”

Building on AOL’s long-standing commitment to Jamaica, the Jamaica for Peace events highlight ongoing efforts to improve inner-city communities and prisons since 2012.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is the recipient of 38 governmental awards, including the highest civilian honours from multiple nations. He is an esteemed speaker who has addressed influential bodies such as the United Nations, European Parliament, and the World Economic Forum.
