Sandals unveils new level of enhanced employee experience

LAUGHTER and surprises, tears of joy, and unfiltered fun were the hallmarks of a recent electrifying event exclusively for team members of Sandals and Beaches resorts.

Multiply that experience by four, and you will begin to grasp the profound impact of the company’s latest initiative — the All That’s Good Roadshow.

This ground breaking event marked a fresh take on Sandals’ annual sports and fun day. Traditionally, team members across Jamaica would gather at a central location on the island for friendly competition, great food, prizes galore and high-energy entertainment. But this year, the festivities came to them.

The All That’s Good Roadshow made its way through four major regions where Sandals operates — Whitehouse, Westmoreland; Negril, Hanover; Montego Bay, St James; and Ocho Rios, St Ann — taking the excitement directly to the heart of Sandals’ operations.

Moments like these were precisely what Sandals envisioned when it introduced a new division to its organisational structure dedicated to enhancing the employee experience more than one a year ago. This Employee Experience Division and the road show initiative that followed highlight the company’s steadfast commitment to supporting its greatest asset, its team members.

“Sandals owes its success to the exemplary team members at the core of our business and we wanted to remind the team of their value. So, for the road show, we went to great lengths to ensure that team members didn’t have to work or do much more than show up and immerse themselves in the event.

“We brought the entire experience to them — entertainment, food, drinks, prizes and surprises. The result was unforgettable,” said Jamie Green, corporate manager for employee experience at Sandals Resorts.

Green shared the overwhelmingly positive feedback from team members, “They have consistently said it was an amazing time, unlike anything before. They felt truly celebrated, like the event was designed just for them. Some were even brought to tears. One team member said the road show gave them a renewed sense of hope and pride in being part of the Sandals family. That kind of feedback is humbling and inspiring”.

He added, “We have unlocked a new level of enhancing the employee experience, and we’re committed to building on this momentum”.

Green highlighted that the road show wasn’t just a celebration, it was a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, brimming with high-energy entertainment, games, and surprises. Executive leaders also joined the fun, adding a personal touch to the festivities.

The All That’s Good Roadshow distributed hundreds of prizes, from gift vouchers, vacation stays and tokens to appliances and gift baskets, culminating in the much-anticipated 77-inch TVs.

These prizes were made possible through the support of long-time Sandals partners, including Best Dressed Chicken, Sherwin-Williams, Select Brands, Campari Group, Gas Pro Jamaica, Massy Distribution, Sunshine Snacks, Rainforest Seafoods, Wisynco, CPJ, Digicel, Appliance Traders Limited, and ATL Automotive.

For Beaches Negril team member Delano “Delly” Fraser, the road show delivered more than just a fun day, it changed his life. Fraser walked away with a 77-inch flat-screen television, the highlight of the event for him and his family.

“When the road show came to Negril, I had no idea what to expect,” shared Fraser, one of four team members to win this grand prize.

“By stepping out of my comfort zone and participating in one activity, my life changed in such a positive way. My family and I are still joking about where we’re going to put the TV,” added Fraser as he reflected on the day’s impact.

“It was simply amazing. I felt really, really good. Sandals has always been committed to staff welfare, but this event took it to another level. It can only get better from here,” declared Fraser.
