SPOTTED!!!! – Lexi Chow

Who? Lexi Chow

The Buzz… Chow is the CEO and founder of CODA , a streaming TV platform, founded in 2022, which authentically showcases the voices and stories of Caribbean culture. With her rich and diverse background in film and music, Chow artfully blends creativity with strategic insight, delivering meaningful content to audiences worldwide.

Her link to The Rock... She was born in Miami to Jamaican parents from Mandeville and St Ann… raised in Mandeville during the summers and holidays.

The more... Her roots run deep in Mandeville, where her family’s history begins with her grandfather and his brothers who purchased Pickapeppa in 1947 from the Nash family. It is this rich heritage that shapes her identity and fuels her passion for advocating Jamaican/Caribbean culture.

Her dad is… music producer Stuart Lyn-Kee-Chow and mum Pauline Phillips, retired from the medical field

What led her to LA... She moved to Los Angeles to pursue opportunities in the entertainment industry… With offers on the table from the NFL Network and Paramount Pictures, she leveraged her skills and experiences at major studios to create impactful content. Unbeknownst to her the move would provide her with the resources and connections necessary to develop her vision for the CODA Network platform.

Beyond her work in streaming... Chow is the creator behind a dynamic portfolio of unique brands and philanthropic initiatives like Jamaican Women Leading Hollywood, SCENE Candele and wellness brand of algae aka sea moss, Botanica Gold, which aligns with her family’s legacy brand in Jamaica, Pickapeppa.

As the innovator of a culturally inspired portfolio that reflects her Jamaican-Chinese heritage, she merges her cultural background with her expertise in entertainment, media, and design. It is her hope that by redefining the streaming landscape she will inspire a new generation of creators and audiences to embrace their cultural heritage and that her work exemplifies the transformative power of storytelling, connecting communities and promoting understanding across borders.

Hot off the Press!!! From Red Hills to Hollywood Hills Jamaican women leading Hollywood… is a showcase of the excellence exhibited by female leaders in the entertainment community

Finally, her wish for the Caribbean… “It’s my responsibility as a person with a platform of power to advocate for diverse voices, uplift marginalised communities, and create opportunities for the next generation. We don’t have enough representation as a Caribbean demographic; we are lumped in with LATAM… I strive to use my influence to foster inclusivity and representation through CODA, ensuring that all narratives are celebrated and accessible. By empowering others and promoting authentic stories and accessible entertainment for everyone , I hope to inspire meaningful change and reshape perceptions of our shared culture.”
