SCORES of women turned out at AC Hotel in Kingston Sunday for the second staging of Jamaica Observer All Woman’s vision board workshop, aimed at helping women strategically plan for the new year.

Held under the theme ‘Wishes to Wins’, from noon to 5:00 pm, women were guided on creating vision boards for the year by consultant sociologist, media practitioner, capacity-building expert, and published author Georgia Crawford Williams.

But before they began vision boarding, the women were treated to loads of giveaways and empowering experiences from the event sponsors.

Jamaica Public Service powered smiles through photo moments at its booth, encouraging women that this is their year to shine. Woman’s Touch offered samples of its all-natural feminine products, and Flow offered a virtual reality experience to ensure that technology remains at the heart of the conversation. Chas E Ramson, with their Elle & Vire and Foska products, had scrumptious treat offerings.

Dr Debbian Spence-Minott, commercial manager – Harbour Wines & Spirits, and an alumna of the US Sommelier Association, shared her wine expertise.

Spence-Minott spoke on the history of wine-making, while the women were encouraged to paint wine glasses depicting their own Napa Valley.

Expert financial tips came from Tracia Woodburn-Morris, manager, client services, Scotia Investments, who shared advice on financial planning for the year.

Attendees included women from all walks of life — from teenagers to women in corporate Jamaica, and even inspiring women featured years ago in the All Woman magazine. They were all interested in the vision board method of planning, to guide their decision-making going forward.

Vision boarding involves using a collage of images, words, and symbols that represent one’s goals, dreams, and aspirations as a daily reminder to help make this vision a reality.

“What’s your vision for 2025?” Crawford-Williams asked the room full of women, as they carefully cut and pasted on their boards. “What season are you in?”

She reminded the women about balance and the importance of staying true to their goals, and urged them to be logical and honest about their visions as she moved from table to table giving advice.
