Jaydon Hibbert’s 17.75m ratified as World Under-20 record
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Jaydon Hibbert’s 17.75m (-0.7m/s) to win the men’s triple jump at last year’s Racers Grand Prix has been ratified as the World Under-20 record by World Athletics, it was announced on Friday.
Hibbert, who turned 20 on Friday, improved on his previous ratified World Under-20 record of 17.66m set in Monaco in July 2023.
The two-time World Under-20 Championships gold medallist has a best of 17.87m done at the South-East Conference outdoor championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, also in 2023, but that has not been ratified.
Hibbert finished fourth at the Paris Olympics with 17.61m while battling an injury.
Hibbert’s achievements in 2024 also earned him a nomination for Men’s Rising Star at the World Athletics Awards.
