Best Care Foundation fundraiser to support new computer lab and tablets for special needs education
THE Best Care Foundation is on track to establish a state-of-the-art computer lab and provide tablets for children with special needs. This transformative project will also incorporate IXL’s Real-Time Diagnostic software, a cutting-edge educational tool designed to personalise learning and foster meaningful progress.
This initiative is being made possible through contributions from key partners, including CIBC Caribbean, whose donation has helped to kickstart the fundraising campaign. The proceeds from this effort will go towards purchasing the necessary equipment, software, and resources to benefit 180 children.
The IXL Real-Time Diagnostic software offers unique features, including grade-level proficiency insights in as little as 45 minutes per subject; customisable assessment windows to track knowledge levels and compare student performance to national norms; personalised action plans with recommended skills tailored to each student’s needs; and engaging and motivational questions designed to inspire active participation and growth.
This software will empower educators and parents to better support the children’s learning journeys, ensuring no child is left behind.
Orville Johnson, director of the Best Care Foundation, shared his gratitude for the support received so far.
“For over 40 years, CIBC Caribbean has supported the Best Care Foundation, helping us to improve the lives of children with special needs. We deeply appreciate their donation towards this fundraiser, which will allow us to provide tools and resources that are critical for the children’s education and development. This initiative is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together for a common cause,“ he said.
Nigel Holness, managing director of CIBC Caribbean, emphasised the bank’s commitment to community initiatives.
“At CIBC Caribbean, we are proud to support the Best Care Foundation’s mission to transform education for children with special needs. By contributing to this fundraiser, we aim to ensure these children have access to resources that will help them achieve their full potential. The integration of IXL’s advanced tools is a vital step in empowering both students and parents for success,“ Holness said.
The Best Care Foundation remains committed to bridging the gap for children with disabilities by leveraging technology and partnerships. This fundraiser is a critical step toward realising the vision of providing equitable, innovative education for Jamaica’s most vulnerable youth.
