For the first time in its history, the event will trade Negril’s iconic Seven Mile Beach for the vibrant Kingston waterfront, embracing a fresh chapter while honouring its roots of community and cultural celebration.

The much-anticipated event is set for Sunday, December 7, 2025, featuring its popular half-marathon, 10K, and 5K race categories. Participants can expect the signature blend of precision planning, lively reggae beats, and an electrifying ambiance, now infused with the unique urban charm of Kingston.

This historic relocation emphasises Kingston’s cultural and historical prominence, with the waterfront route offering breathtaking views and an invigorating new challenge. Race Director Alfred “Frano” Francis shared the reasoning behind the move.

“Marking 25 years of the Reggae Marathon in Jamaica’s capital is a tribute to our country’s heritage. Kingston offers a unique backdrop that will elevate the race experience for everyone involved,” he said.

Since its inception, the Reggae Marathon has transcended its status as a sporting event, becoming a beacon of resilience, community, and Jamaican pride. Its milestone anniversary in Kingston represents a gateway to new stories and unforgettable experiences.

Traditional highlights like the pasta party and Victory Beach Party will adapt to Kingston’s setting, creating memorable moments for runners and supporters alike. The new course promises a flat, fast run through Kingston’s landmarks, complemented by the city’s lively reggae beats and warm hospitality.
