JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation donates $1.2m to Sagicor Sigma Run

THE JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation has made a $1.2-million donation to the Sagicor Foundation, as part of the fund-raising efforts for the annual Sagicor Sigma Run. This donation will be distributed to support the Intensive Care Unit of Kingston Public Hospital (KPH); Bethlehem (Father Ho Lung & Friends); and the Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre.

The funds will be allocated as $600,000 for KPH intensive care, $300,000 for Bethlehem (Father Ho Lung & Friends), and $300,000 for Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre, the foundation said.

“We are overjoyed to support the Sagicor Foundation and its admirable efforts through the Sagicor Sigma Run,“ said Kim Mair, CEO of the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation.

“This collaboration is a true reflection of our commitment to corporate social responsibility and nation-building. We believe that by coming together with love and compassion, we can make a profound difference in the lives of those who need it most.”

The Sagicor Sigma Run 2025, now in its 27th year, aims to raise $115 million for its beneficiaries. This year’s event, scheduled for Sunday, February 16, will feature a 5.5-kilometre race open to runners and walkers of all fitness levels. The funds raised will support health, child-related, and educational initiatives, with a focus on the three charities.

“We are extremely grateful to the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation for their continued generosity and support of our flagship charity event — Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run. The foundation’s commitment to making a meaningful impact aligns perfectly with our mission, and the ongoing contributions help us extend our reach and change more lives. This partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration, and we look forward to continuing this journey together,” said Javaughn Keyes, corporate communications manager, Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited.

By channelling its donation through the Sagicor Foundation, the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation is contributing to a larger pool of funds that will be raised through the run. For over a decade, the foundation has been a proud supporter of the event.

Established in honour of the late co-founder of The JMMB Group, Joan Duncan, the foundation is dedicated to empowering people and contributing to Jamaica’s Vision 2030.
