Senior citizen found dead on school compound
ST MARY, Jamaica – The St Mary police are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of a 63-year-old man whose lifeless body was found on the Galina Primary School premises early Tuesday morning.
The dead man has been identified as Everton Meghoo of a Galina address in the parish.
The discovery of Meghoo’s lifeless body in the school’s auditorium led to school being suspended for the day.
Reports are that around 5:50 am Tuesday, the school’s watchman went to the auditorium where Meghoo was said to be sleeping.
He tried to wake the man but he was unresponsive.
It was observed that he had blood over his right eye. The police were called and he was taken to the Port Maria hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Meghoo was last seen alive on Monday night.
The police are investigating.
