Pamputtae motivated to keep giving back
Dancehall artiste Pamputtae has given the assurance that, while it hasn’t been smooth sailing for her Single Mothers Foundation, her philanthropic efforts will continue as she hopes to spread joy to the less fortunate.
In an interview with the Jamaica Observer, the entertainer shared that she recently visited the Mustard Seed Communities, where she handed over food items and other necessities.
“When I got to these homes and I interacted with these kids I saw how happy they are for the little things. Seeing their joy keeps me motivated to give back. I donated food items, water, juices, pampers (children and adults), shoes, slippers. Just items I know they need and will appreciate,” she shared.
The entertainer, whose birth name is Eveanna Henry, says she started her Single Mothers Foundation having identified that the needs of the most vulnerable are immense. She shared that, whilst donations have dwindled and things have become challenging, she never wants to stop giving.
“It has become difficult in a lot of ways to continue doing this, and sometimes the huge elaborate things I want to do, it doesn’t get supported as it should, but I am still very grateful for my donors and what I have been able to do so far. It means a lot to me and I know it means even more to the beneficiaries,” she said.
The artiste used the opportunity to urge her colleagues in the music industry to lend their support to foundations like hers.
“I want more artistes to support movements like these: Come out to the homes, see the children, play with them, interact, and just realise what your efforts will mean to them,” she charged. “When you’re blessed, it’s a blessing to help others.
