Frazsiers Whip hunt win number four in JWPL

Defending champions and leaders Frazsiers Whip will be on the hunt for a fourth-straight win when they take on last-placed Springers United in the Jamaica Women’s Premier League match at Granville Community Centre this afternoon. Start time is set for 3:30 pm.

The usual five games are scheduled with second-placed Cavalier playing away to Proven Girls SC at York Oval, third-placed Los Perfectos hosting Real MoBay AFC at Mile Gully, and Arnett Gardens taking on UWI Women at the UWI Bowl.

Frazsiers Whip have run roughshod over the rest of the competition so far this season, scoring some 20 goals in their three games. They will face a Springers United team still trying to find its feet.

After battling to a 2-2 draw in their opening game against Federal United, Springers United lost the point after an administrative blunder. They were beaten 1-5 by WiFi United last week.

Springers must get their game together if they are to avoid back-to-back heavy losses against the best team in the competition so far. They will hope that playing at home will give them an advantage.

Cavalier have won back-to-back games since being held to a draw in their opening game. They will hope to get a third-straight win against Proven Girls who are still searching for a victory. Proven have conceded 12 goals, the most by any team in the competition.

Los Perfectos will be hoping to rebound from a big loss to Frazsiers Whip last week — that snapped their two-game winning start — when they host Real MoBay ACF at Mile Gully.

Before losing 1-7 to Frazsiers Whip, Los Perfectos had made a solid start to the competition they have returned to after a nine-year break. They have scored seven goals and conceded just two and will hope to return to winning ways against a team that has drawn two of their three games.

Both Arnett Gardens and UWI Women are coming off their first win of the season last week. Both will be hoping to extend their runs when they meet at the UWI Bowl.

Arnett Gardens are on four points, one more than UWI. Arnett Gardens will be seeking to maintain their unbeaten record against a UWI Women’s team who lost their first two games before beating Real MoBay AFC last weekend.

3:30 pm — Springers United vs Frazsiers Whip FC @ Granville
