Samsung offers ‘powerhouse of possibility’ with new Galaxy S25 phone

Smart Mobile Solutions (SMS) in collaboration with Samsung Electronics and Digicel officially launched the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Series phone in Jamaica on April 8, 2025, declaring the device “a powerhouse of possibility”.

“We are not merely introducing a new device; we are ushering in a new era of mobile experiences,” SMS co-founder and Managing Director Dane Spencer told guests at the launch inside the Digicel Tropical Plaza store in St Andrew.

“Your desire for unparalleled innovation and seamless connectivity has driven us to collaborate with two industry leaders: Digicel, renowned for its robust and expansive network across Jamaica, ensuring you’re perpetually connected; and Samsung Electronics, a pioneer in cutting-edge technology, consistently redefining the boundaries of what’s possible,” Spencer added.

“We understand you demand the best — the best technology and the best connectivity, to gain the overall best mobile experiences. With Samsung’s cutting-edge innovation and Digicel’s expansive network, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series is a powerhouse of possibility,” he said.

“These two powerhouses have been our trusted partners for some time and it is through this synergy that we have been able to combine innovation from different companies and spheres into what we believe will be an amazing experience that will not only connect you to the world via this power packed technology in the palm of your hands, but deliver to you in a flexible, secure and easy way the peace of mind that we always have you covered,” Spencer said.

The innovative features of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series include:

Digicel Jamaica CEO Stephen Murad, who welcomed guests to the launch, noted that Digicel launched in Jamaica 24 years ago on April 19, 2001 and has democratised communications, to now boasting more than two million mobile customers across the island with over 900 towers.

He expressed gratitude to Spencer for bringing the Samsung team to Jamaica for the launch and shared his experience using the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series.

“It’s all about efficiency for me, the new AI integration enables some of the more time-consuming tasks to be completed in a split second. I can talk to it and ask it to consolidate all of my e-mail. This kind of awesome technology innovation is better connected in action,” Murad said.

Samsung Electronics Corporate Marketing Manager Jazmin Martinez, a seasoned professional and force behind Samsung’s impactful presence in the region, said it was her first time in Jamaica and the island “feels like home”.

She unveiled the features of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series powered by Galaxy AI in a breathtaking presentation showcasing the innovation and leading-edge features designed to transform how we live, work, and connect.

Guests were treated to a live demo of the device, hot-seat giveaways of smart watches, and the main prizes of the new innovative Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra phones.
