Frazsiers Whip eye ninth-straight JWPL win
Cavalier aim to rebound away to Real MoBay
Defending champions and leaders Frazsiers Whip FC will go after a ninth-straight win in the Jamaica Women’s Premier League when they host third-placed Arnett Gardens at Excelsior High this afternoon. Kick-off is set for 3:30.
Frazsiers Whip FC are on 24 points, two more than Cavalier FC, who they defeated 2-1 last week.
Arnett Gardens have 19 points, one more than fourth-placed Los Perfectos FC.
The title holders are expected to continue their winning ways, despite Arnett Gardens winning their last five games in a row.
Frazsiers Whip FC have scored 47 goals in their eight games and conceded just five.
Arnett Gardens are the next best team in those statistics, tallying 38 goals and conceding only eight. Their record is identical to Cavalier’s, but the latter have played one game more.
Cavalier are expected to rebound when they take on Real MoBay AFC at Jarrett Park in St James, with the hosts coming off a bye last weekend. Real MoBay will be hoping to pull off an upset to add to their solitary win so far this season.
Cavalier are prime candidates to earn a place in the semi-finals this season and they are expected to take the game to Real MoBay who have conceded 10 goals in their two most recent games.
Mile Gully FC and WiFi United, fifth and sixth in the tables, respectively, are both expected to aim for a win when they meet at Carder Park. The teams are looking to close the gap on Los Perfectos FC who have the bye this week.
One point separates the teams, with Mile Gully (11 points) winning their last two games by a 9-0 aggregate. WiFi United have lost two games on the trot since beating Real MoBay 2-0 in Montego Bay.
UWI Women’s FC will be hoping for back-to-back wins when they take on Federal United at Prison Oval. UWI Women could take over fifth place in the tables depending on other results.
