World Relays: Jamaica’s 4x400m men fourth in heat, look to second attempt to qualify for Tokyo
Jamaica’s men’s 4x400m team were not able to book a Tokyo world championships spot on Saturday, having placed fourth in their first round heat on a frustrating opening day for Jamaican athletes at the World Relays in Guangzhou, China.
The team of Javier Brown, Zandrion Barnes, Rusheen McDonald and Tarees Rhoden ran 3:03.54 minutes after being in second place midway the race.
They will have another shot at getting into the World Athletics Championships on Sunday’s second day after missing out on qualifying for last year’s Olympic Games in Paris.
