Black Stars win third straight game in St Ann FA Major League
ST ANN, Jamaica – Black Stars raced to three straight wins after beating Higgin Town 2-0 in their St Ann Football Association Major League Zone B game played at Drax Hall on Tuesday.
The win saw Black Stars taking over the lead in Zone B on nine points, three more than Moneague FC and Lewis YC, both on six points.
Vijay Linton scored in the 65th minute to give Black Stars the lead before Rohan Hall doubled the advantage in the 80th minute as Higgin Town lost their third straight.
In the second game of the double-header, Richmond FC scored their first win of the season, an upset 1-0 win over Madras FC, ending their winning run at two games.
Former Reggae Boy Errol Stevens scored the all-important goal in the 44th minute, his third of the season.
The win saw Richmond move up to third place in the points table with four points, as King FA overtook Madras FC at the top on more goals scored, as both are on six points and have goal differences of plus four.
