50 Haitians who entered Jamaica illegally sent back to their homeland
PORTLAND, Jamaica —Fifty Haitian nationals who entered Jamaica illegally were repatriated to Haiti on Monday night.
The group, which included men, women, and children, departed the Coast Guard Base at Boundbrook Wharf in Port Antonio at 8:31 pm aboard a Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard vessel.
According to reports, the group comprised 35 men, five boys, six women, and four girls.
Observer Online understands that one of the women who arrived on the island Sunday, seven months pregnant, required emergency surgery. Additionally, several members of the group had been staying in St Mary after arriving on the island some time ago.
The repatriation was carried out in coordination with the relevant authorities.
