74-y-o leads JCF Transformations Expo 2.0
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 74-year-old woman was the first to arrive at the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Transformations Expo 2.0 being held at the National Arena in Kingston, making a quiet but powerful statement about the importance of progress and support for policing in Jamaica.
Monica Allen, who travelled from Portland, was the first through the gates. Her presence surprised many, as attendees may have expected a younger, more tech-savvy face to lead the charge into the expo.
“I’ve seen a lot of changes in my lifetime,” Allen said. “And I believe in progress. The JCF has worked hard and is becoming better, I had to be here to see it.”
Allen said her interest in the event wasn’t casual. Having observed the JCF’s development over the years, she was eager to witness the latest phase of its evolution, particularly the force’s use of technology and innovation. She emphasised that her early arrival was intentional, a personal demonstration of her continued support for change within the JCF.
Living in Portland meant Allen had to leave home well before dawn to make it in time. Her commitment, she said, stems from a deep belief in continuous learning and growth regardless of age.
The 74-year-old shared it wasn’t just a casual interest but a deep-seated belief in progress and in seeing how far the Jamaica Constabulary Force had come, and in witnessing the future unfold through technology and innovation.
