National Trials 2025: Clarke sets national junior record in 110m hurdles
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Kingston College’s Daniel Clarke broke the national junior record in the Under-20 boys 110m hurdles, running 12.96 seconds (0/7m/s) to win the final at the JAAA national junior championships at the National Stadium on Sunday.
Clarke lowered his previous best 13.06 seconds set earlier this year, and went under the previous national Under-20 record 12.99 seconds set in 2018 by Damion Thomas, which at the time was a world Under-20 record.
His time is the second fastest ever in the Under-20 age group.
St Jago High’s Marquies Page ran a massive personal best 13.03 seconds (1.0m/s) to win the Under-18 boys 110m hurdles title, lowering his previous best of 13.68 seconds set earlier in June. He is the fourth fastest ever and second fastest by a Jamaican, only behind Jaheel Hyde.
Two Kingston College athletes finished behind him, namely Michael Dwyer, 13.24 seconds, and Jonathon Clarke, 13.66 seconds.
