KINGSTON, Jamaica – Anthony Isaacs is channeling his passion for philanthropy into music, with his recently launched JAIRIE Radio, an independent, Black-owned internet radio station that streams out of New York City.

Through this platform, he has put focus on emerging artistes, giving them an opportunity to reach broader and more diverse audiences.

“We’ve created segments that spotlight up-and-coming artistes to give them airplay with established names. Through interviews, live social media, and collaborations with DJs, we have helped these artistes reach audiences both locally and internationally,” Isaacs told the Observer online.

He has fueled his love for community even further by giving back to his former school, Pratville Primary in Manchester, Jamaica. Along with his team, he has been able to donate school supplies, as well as improve the infrastructure by funding a full plumbing system for the school. In addition, in the past, they have partnered with a local internet provider to bring reliable internet to help teachers develop digital learning tools.

“We’re all about supporting the kids and giving them the tools they need to grow and succeed. JAIRIE Radio is more than just a station; it’s a way for us to give back to the community we love, which is really important to us. It is a movement dedicated to keeping Caribbean culture alive, celebrating talent, and sharing island sounds globally, one broadcast at a time,” he continued.

Born in Jamaica, Isaacs has always had a deep love for Caribbean music and culture. Moving to Queens, New York in 1979, he realised the “true island vibe” he grew up with was missing from local radio and from there, his career in radio came into fruition. After spending years taking care of his family and focusing on work, he decided it was time to pour his energy into something meaningful; from there, JAIRIE Radio was born and will continue to grow as a platform aimed at affecting positive change.

“We’re working on growing our digital reach and getting ready to launch the JAIRIE Radio app. We also want to keep connecting with more creatives across the Caribbean. No matter what comes next, our mission stays the same to be a voice for Caribbean music, culture, and pride,” Isaacs revealed.
