National Trials 2025: Bryan Levell retains 200m title
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Olympic Games semi-finalist Bryan Levell retained his men’s 200m title on Sunday’s final day of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Senior Championships, running a season’s best 20.10 seconds (0.9m/s).
After Friday’s disappointment when he was eighth in the 100m final, Levell, who had run a wind-aided 19.79 seconds at the Racers Grand Prix two weeks ago, delivered with a polished performance on Sunday.
He came from behind in the last 60 metres to win, passing early leader Christopher Taylor, who finished second in a season’s best 20.28 seconds, with Adrian Kerr third in 20.49 seconds.
Ashanti Moore won the women’s final in 22.66 seconds (1.0m/s), only her second race over the distance this season after she had run 22.92 seconds in the semis on Saturday.
Gabrielle Mathews ran 22.80 seconds for second place with Roneisha McGregor third in a lifetime best 22.86 seconds.
