Raheem Motors Bike Show reaps success
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dwight “Raheem” Scott and Shakera Kinlock, co-organisers of the Raheem Motors Bike Show, are pleased to have rallied camaraderie with the recent staging on August 1.
The showcase, which was held at Kinlock Auto Sales in Hayes, Clarendon, saw some of the best motorcyclists displaying not only their wheels but also impressive stunts.
“The highlights for me were the live stunt performances, the energy from the patrons, and seeing families and young people come together to enjoy the event. Many patrons were amazed by the stunts by Baby Rush on his quad and the showcase of Daylight’s slingshot motorcycle,” Scott told Observer Online.
There were approximately 12-15 participants, with some patrons joining in to show off their skills, as well. Music was provided by Mello Construction.
Meanwhile, Scott noted that he had a vision to combine his passions for motorcycles and togetherness to launch the bike show, which was first held in December 2024.
“Growing up, I have always loved motorcycles. In 2023, I started selling motorcycles and parts, but I wanted to do more than just run a business—I wanted to build a community. The bike show was inspired by my passion and the desire to create a space where people could come together, showcase their talents, and enjoy the vibrant culture around bikes and cars,” he explained.
According to the co-promoter, patrons have also given their seals of approval.
“The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Patrons expressed how much they enjoyed the vibe, the organisation and the level of talent showcased. Many asked if we’d be doing it again, which was very encouraging,” he said.
In the meantime, Kinlock attributed the event’s success to meticulous planning.
“This staging was quite easy as we did an extensive review of our last show and created a spreadsheet in advance to assist in the preparation. So it was basically ticking boxes of what’s to be done and organising our resources,” she said.
The organisers further extended gratitude and promised that the future staging, later this year, will exceed expectations.
“We’re grateful to everyone who supported the event, from our participants to the amazing patrons who showed up and made the day unforgettable. We’re excited to announce that the next staging of the show will take place on Sunday, December 28, 2025, and we’re already in the planning phase to make it even more exciting. We’re hoping to secure strong corporate sponsorship this time around to take the experience to another level and continue building something impactful for the community,” Kinlock said.
