Jamaica whip Trinidad and Tobago 6-2 to advance to U15 final
KINGSTON, Jamaica —Jamaica advanced to the final of League B of the Concacaf Boys’ Under -15 championships on Friday after hammering Trinidad and Tobago 6-2 in their semi-final game played at Stadion CD Guillermo Trinidad in Aruba.
Six different players scored for Jamaica against a Trinidad and Tobago team that had not conceded a goal in their previous three games in the championships.
In Saturday’s final, Jamaica will face Puerto Rico who beat Guatemala in the other semi-final.
Jamaica raced into a 2-0 lead after just 10 minutes on Friday and led 3-0 at half time against the Trinidad and Tobago team that was forced to chase the game.
Kenrick Brown got Jamaica off to a fast start when he converted a penalty kick in the eighth minute after defender Aden Montano handled the ball inside his own 18-yard box.
Samuel Taylor doubled the advantage in the 10th minute when Samuel Taylor fired home at the far left post across from Kelvin D Brown.
Another handball from Montano, this time just outside the 18- yard area and Kelvin Brown curled a free kick past the diving Levi Williams in the Trinidad and Tobago goal in the 35th minute.
After Reagan Rowe rattled the Jamaica crossbar with a ferocious shot, Trinidad and Tobago pulled a goal back after Adasa Richardson’s spectacular back heel in the 41st minute beat the Jamaican goalkeeper Jaheim Grey.
Davion Clarke restored Jamaica’s three goals advantage when he scored in the 50th minute and Kelvin D Brown added a fifth goal in the 54th minute.
Trinidad and Tobago got a second goal in the 62nd minute due to a header, but Jamaica responded again when Carlondo Morris who came off the bench to replace Kelvin Brown, got up after he was fouled by goalkeeper Williams, to bury a penalty kick in the 70th minute.
